Why Your Facebook Ads Are Not Working for Cebu Business Owners

Getting clicks but no sales from your Facebook Ads? Here is what is actually broken and how Cebu business owners can fix it.

You are running Facebook Ads in Cebu. You are getting reach, you are getting clicks, and you are still not making sales.

Most business owners blame the budget. The real problem is almost never the budget.

The Ad Is Not What Closes the Sale

Your ad has one job: get the click. After that, everything else has to convert the buyer. If people are clicking but not buying or not messaging, the ad is working. The system behind it is not.

Most Cebu business owners I talk to have the same setup: a good-looking ad pointing to a Facebook page, a Linktree, or a website that was not built to sell. That is where the money is leaking.

What Is Actually Breaking Your Results

Your landing page is not built to convert. A Facebook page is not a landing page. A Linktree is not a landing page. A converting page has one job, one message, and one action. It loads fast, it is mobile-first (over 90% of traffic in Cebu and across the Philippines is on mobile), and it immediately answers: what is this, why should I care, what do I do next.

Your offer is not specific enough. Cebuano buyers respond to clear, direct offers. "Quality products at affordable prices" is not an offer. "Free delivery within Cebu City for orders above 500 pesos, COD available" is an offer. The more specific you are, the easier it is for the right person to say yes.

Your targeting is off. Broad targeting works when your creative is strong and your pixel has data. Most small businesses in Cebu start with narrow interest targeting and burn budget before the pixel learns anything. Start broad or use Advantage+ audience. Let Meta find your buyers. Once you have 50 purchase or lead events, you can refine.

The checkout or contact process has too much friction. For COD businesses: the fewer fields in your order form, the more orders you get. Name, address, phone number. That is it. For service businesses: if your Messenger response time is slow, you lose the lead to someone who replies in five minutes. Speed of response is a competitive advantage in the Philippines.

You are measuring the wrong numbers. Reach and clicks are not results. The only numbers that matter are cost per result (lead, message, order), return on ad spend if you are in eCommerce, and conversion rate on your landing page. If your cost per result is high, fix the page before touching the ad.

The Fix Is the Full System, Not Just the Ad

Running Facebook Ads without a proper funnel is like pouring water into a bucket with holes. You can pour more water (increase budget) but it will keep leaking until you fix the holes.

The system that works is: Ad to Landing Page to Checkout or Contact to Follow-up. All four parts need to work together. When they do, your cost per result drops and your business can scale.

Fixing just the ad creative while ignoring the page and the offer is the most expensive mistake a Cebu business owner can make.
