The Biggest Meta Ads Mistake Iloilo and Bacolod Business Owners Make

One mistake accounts for most of the wasted ad spend I see from small businesses in Iloilo and Bacolod. Here is what it is and how to fix it.

I talk to business owners in Iloilo and Bacolod who are running Facebook Ads and not getting results. Almost every time, the same mistake is at the root of the problem.

They are running ads before the funnel is ready.

What "Running Ads Before the Funnel Is Ready" Means

It means the ad is live, people are clicking, and there is nowhere proper to send them. No landing page built to convert. No follow-up system when a lead comes in. No clear offer for the buyer to say yes to.

The ad is running but the system that should close the sale does not exist. So every click is a wasted opportunity and every peso of ad spend is going into a broken bucket.

Why This Happens

Business owners in Iloilo and Bacolod, like everywhere in the Philippines, are often moving fast. They see competitors running ads and want to start immediately. They assume the ad itself is what generates revenue.

The ad generates attention. The system generates revenue.

The Checklist Before You Run a Single Peso of Ads

Before your next campaign, confirm these are in place:

A landing page that matches your ad. The headline on the page should match the promise in the ad. If your ad says "Free delivery in Iloilo City," the page should say it too. Mismatched messaging kills conversions immediately.

A clear, specific offer. Not "quality products." A specific thing at a specific price with a specific reason to act now. Your offer needs to make the decision easy.

A fast response system for inquiries. If leads come in through Messenger, who is responding and how fast? In the Philippines, the business that responds within five minutes wins the sale. The one that responds in three hours loses it.

A way to track results. At minimum, Meta Pixel installed on your landing page. Without it, you are flying blind. You cannot optimize what you cannot measure.

A COD checkout that is simple. For product businesses: name, address, phone. That is all you need. Every additional field loses you orders.

The Right Order of Operations

Build the system first. Test it manually. Place a test order yourself. Send yourself a test inquiry. Make sure the response works.

Then run ads.

This order feels slower but it is actually faster. Businesses that run ads before the system is ready waste 30,000 to 50,000 pesos learning lessons that could have been avoided.

Businesses in Iloilo and Bacolod that I have helped build the funnel first before running ads consistently hit profitable results within the first two weeks of going live.
