You're spending money on Meta Ads. You're getting clicks. But the sales aren't coming.
This is one of the most common problems for product and service businesses in the Philippines. And in most cases, the problem is not the ad.
The Ad Is Not the Problem
Most business owners blame the creative, the audience, or the budget. But the ad's only job is to get the click. After that, everything else has to close the sale.
If you're getting clicks but no conversions, the problem is almost always one of these:
1. Your Landing Page Is Not Built to Convert
A Facebook post, a Linktree, or a generic website is not a landing page. A landing page has one job: move the person from curious to ready to buy or ready to contact you.
A converting landing page in the Philippines needs:
- A clear headline that matches what the ad promised
- Social proof (screenshots, testimonials, client results)
- A fast, obvious call to action
- Mobile-first design — over 90% of PH traffic is on mobile
If your page loads slow, looks cluttered, or doesn't immediately answer "what is this and why should I care," people leave.
2. Your Offer Is Not Clear
Filipinos respond to clear, specific offers. "We help businesses grow" is not an offer. "We build your Meta Ads campaign in 5 days with a free audit first" is an offer.
Be specific about:
- What the customer gets
- How fast they get it
- What it costs or what the next step is
3. You're Targeting Too Broadly or Too Narrowly
Broad targeting works when your creative is strong and your pixel has data. Narrow targeting works when you know exactly who you're talking to.
Most businesses in the Philippines make one of two mistakes:
- Targeting everyone and burning budget on unqualified clicks
- Targeting too narrow and limiting reach before the pixel has enough data
Start with broad or advantage+ audience. Let the pixel find your buyers. Once you have 50+ purchase events, then you can tighten.
4. The Checkout or Contact Process Has Too Much Friction
COD businesses: if your checkout requires too many steps or asks for too much information, people drop off. Keep it to name, address, phone number. That's it.
Service businesses: if your contact form is buried or your Messenger bot is slow to respond, you lose the lead. Speed of response is a competitive advantage in PH.
5. You're Measuring the Wrong Things
Clicks and reach are vanity metrics. The only numbers that matter are:
- Cost per result (lead, message, purchase)
- ROAS (if ecommerce)
- Conversion rate on the landing page
If your cost per result is high, fix the landing page first before touching the ad.
The Full Funnel Fix
The reason most Meta Ads campaigns underperform is that the ad is running but the system behind it is broken. Fixing just the ad is like putting a better engine in a car with no wheels.
The full funnel is: Ad → Landing Page → Checkout or Contact → Follow-up
All four parts need to work together. When they do, ROAS improves, cost per result drops, and the business scales.
